 ABOUT THE Authors:

Kristen Payne

I am currently in my last semester at Dawson as a student in the Arts and Culture profile of the ALC program, completing my minor in journalism. I work for the Dawson newspaper “The Plant” as a staff writer, mainly for the arts and culture section. While I love journalism, it's not specifically what I hope to find a career in. I will be studying Communication and Cultural Studies at Concordia, where I hope to go into the Public Relations sector. I would love to continue writing about pop culture in magazines and take the journalism skills I have learnt into my career.

Luca Scott

Soon to be sports journalist and singer, taking my talents to the Journalism program at Concordia University in the fall. I'm the Weeknd's biggest fan. I will change the world, making it a better place to live in by eliminating the corrupt establishments that are ruining the world. I aim to create a foundation to teach third world countries North American sports, as sports are one of the ways people can put their differences aside in order to cooperate with each other in the name of playing a good game.

Jayda Pounder

I'm a 19 year old Journalism student who loves to have fun, socialize, and connect with others. I'm fluent in pop culture references, and I'm constantly writing, reading, and checking up on what's happening around the world. With all this energy and fast-paced interactions, coffee is the only thing that can truly keep up with me (with 8 packs of sugar added to it). I love learning about new perspectives and I'm constantly trying to figure out why people do the things they do; can you tell I want to be a journalist? I really want to travel the world one day, and hope I can help change it! â€‹

Deborah Barrasso

Hi, my name is Deborah Barrasso. I'm weeks away from graduating from the Cinema-Communications program at Dawson College with a minor in journalism. I love writing, eating, and sharing my thoughts with all of you (especially those related to food). What does my future hold? I'm not sure yet, but whatever it is, I know it'll be great.

Kayla-Marie Turriciano

I am a second year Dawson student in the Arts and Culture profile of the Arts, Literature and Communications program. Currently finishing a minor in journalism, I will be going on to Concordia Journalism in the fall. I'm an avid Netflixer and procrstinator, which almost always go hand-in-hand. I give my all in everything I do because I'm a perfectionist, despite being lazy. I'm excited to see what the future holds for me; I wish to some day be on television or radio, or even be an editor for a grand magazine or newspaper.
